We understand ADHD across development

ADHD is not determined by behavior alone
High energy, distractibility, or emotional reactivity can be part of typical development; diagnosis requires careful consideration of developmental history, context, and functional impact

Rating scales are only one part of the evaluation
Rating scales are interpreted within a broader clinical evaluation that includes developmental history, observation, and clinical judgment

Strong academic performance does not rule out ADHD
Academic performance alone does not capture the presence or absence of ADHD-related impairment

Our evaluations can help clarify:
If ADHD is an appropriate diagnosis
How attention and emotion regulation difficulties impact daily life
What supports, interventions, and accommodations may be most beneficial

ADHD Evaluations
Adults

Understanding ADHD across development supports a more accurate diagnosis in adulthood

A childhood diagnosis is not required to meet criteria for ADHD in adulthood (Barkley, Murphy, & Fischer, 2007)
Adult ADHD diagnosis is based on evidence of ADHD-related impairments beginning in childhood, regardless of whether a diagnosis was previously made

Adult ADHD diagnoses are not determined by simply applying childhood symptom criteria to adult functioning
Accurate diagnosis requires developmentally informed clinical judgment. Our expertise in childhood ADHD supports this approach

Performance on computerized attention tasks does not reflect how attention difficulties present in everyday adult life (Barkley, 2019)
Consistent with current research and best practices, we do not use computerized attention tasks in our evaluations

Adult ADHD symptoms often overlap with anxiety, depression, or burnout
Our diagnostic conclusions require careful differential diagnosis rather than symptom checklists alone

Austism Evaluations
18 months - 18 years old

We understand Autism across development

Autism can look different from person to person
An autism diagnosis requires understanding patterns across development and contexts. We understand that autism may look a little different for everyone. There is no single presentation of autism and characteristics may differ based on age, gender, culture, and support needs

A comprehensive evaluation is our “gold standard”
No single test can diagnose autism. Our evaluations involve several evidence-based measures and rating scales, plus an in-depth developmental history, observation, and clinical judgment to determine if an autism diagnosis fits you or your child’s experiences

What if there were no developmental delays?
A child meeting their developmental milestones does not rule out Autism. Symptoms of Autism can be subtle or interpreted as personality differences rather than developmental ones

Our evaluations can help clarify:
If Autism is an appropriate diagnosis
How social, emotional, and behavioral functioning impacts daily life
What supports, interventions, and accommodations may be most beneficial
